OHIO Early voting

Early in-person and absentee voting is scheduled to begin Tuesday in Ohio and will end at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 4, Election Day. Tuesday’s start could be delayed if the Ohio Supreme Court rules today in favor of a GOP motion challenging the early voting start. (See story, B2)

Here are a few facts needed for those voters:

You do not need a reason to vote early.

Those wanting to vote early can do so in person by going to their county board of elections office.

To vote, a registered voter must provide the last four digits of his or her Social Security number, driver’s license number; or a valid Ohio driver’s license, state identification card, a government ID card that shows a photo, name and address; or a copy of a current utility bill, cell phone bill, bank statement, paycheck, government check, or other government document that shows the voter’s name and current address.

Those voting absentee can mail their ballots to their county board of elections beginning Tuesday. Those deciding to vote absentee can obtain a form requesting an absentee ballot from the secretary of state’s Web site — http://www.sos.state.oh.us/ — or from your county elections board.

Mahoning County Board of Elections at 2801 Market St. in Youngstown will open at 8 a.m. Tuesday. The elections boards in Trumbull and Columbiana counties will open at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday. The Trumbull board is at 2947 Youngstown Road S.E. in Warren. The Columbiana board is at 41 N. Park Ave. in Lisbon. They all close at 4:30 p.m. Mahoning, and Trumbull will extend its hours and be open on weekends beginning Oct. 7, the day after the voter registration deadline.
