MERCER COUNTY | Sentencings


Judges in Mercer County Common Pleas Court sentenced these people last week. According to court documents:

Matthew Calloway, 22, of North Good Hope Road, Jamestown, placed on three years’ probation for felony retail theft for stealing a pair of jeans and three shirts valued at $157 from J.C. Penney and Macy’s at the Shenango Valley Mall, Hermitage, on Nov. 23, 2007. The offense is a felony because it was his third or subsequent crime.

Mike Dorsey, 20, of Spring Hill, Fla., sentenced to 14 days to 11 months in jail for simple assault, a misdemeanor for assaulting a student at Thiel College, 75 College Ave., Greenville, on Dec. 8, 2007. He punched the victim in the face while holding something in his fist, causing the victim to sustain a broken nose and orbital bone.

Charles Neil, 49, of King Drive, Hermitage, placed on two years’ probation for misdemeanor forgery for changing the number of Valium pills on a prescription from 14 to 140 on April 13, 2007, at Eckerd Drug Store, 533 Greenville-Mercer Road, Coolspring Township.

Charles Park Jr., 37, of South Liberty Street, New Castle, sentenced to 50 days to 23 months in the Mercer County Jail for misdemeanor retail theft. He stole 14 pairs of jeans from Sears at the Shenango Valley Mall, Hermitage, on Nov. 3, 2007.

William Metz, 44, of Transfer, resentenced to nine to 23 months in the Mercer County Jail for felony robbery. In May 2006, he was placed on probation for the offense but violated it by possessing and consuming alcoholic beverages.

Ranfis Perez-Magro, 34, formerly of Erie, sentenced to 315 days to 23 months in jail for felony criminal trespass for illegally entering a Mill Road, Perry Township, residence Oct. 23, 2007.

Daniel Wiley, 23, formerly of Coleman Avenue, Sharpsville, sentenced to 11 1‚Ñ2 to 23 months in jail followed by two years’ probation for firearms not to be carried without a license, a felony, and possessing a controlled substance, a misdemeanor. He possessed cocaine and had a loaded 12–gauge shotgun and a loaded 9 mm semiautomatic pistol in his vehicle Sept. 22, 2007, when apprehended at Idaho Street and Stambaugh Avenue in Farrell.

Jeffrey B. Williamson, 29, and his father, Jeffrey D. Williamson, 58, both of Wise Road, Greenville, sentenced for a Nov. 3, 2005, incident at North High Street and Lawn Avenue Greenville. During a fire at a Lawn Avenue structure, police observed the younger Williamson drive a vehicle over a fire hose. When police stopped the vehicle, the younger Williamson punched a member of the Greenville-West Salem Police Department. His father then punched another officer in the face. The younger Williamson was given a one- to two-year suspended jail term and placed on a one year’s probation for resisting arrest and disorderly conduct, both misdemeanors, and fined an unspecified amount for driving over the fire hose, which is a summary offense. His father was given a one- to two-year suspended sentence for resisting arrest and placed on two years’ probation for simple assault, both misdemeanors.

Judy Fagan, 49, of Willadell Road, Transfer, placed on seven years’ probation and ordered to make $72,000 restitution for theft by unlawful taking, a felony. She stole the money from her 82-year-old mother-in-law, Mary Fagan, while acting with power of attorney for her between April 2002, and May 2006. She took more than $100,000 cash from the victim, opened credit cards in her name and forged her signature on several checks.

Joyce Miller, 30, of Sharon-Mercer Road, Mercer, sentenced to six to 12 months in the Mercer County Jail followed by six years’ probation and ordered to make $29,117 restitution for felony theft by unlawful taking. She is eligible for house arrest. While working as manager at he Forrest Brooke Mobile Home Park in Lackawannock Township from January to July 2007, she kept the deposits from residents that should have been put into the trailer park’s account. She also completed counterfeit eviction notices and placed altered copies in the park files.

Aimee Kuchmak, 33, of Prindle Street, Sharon, placed on one year’s probation for misdemeanor simple assault. On Nov. 30, 2007, she attacked another woman at a Sharon apartment, scratching her face, biting her finger and pulling her hair.

Timothy Crawford, 24, formerly of Malleable Street, Sharon, resentenced to six months to one year in jail for two counts of possessing controlled substances, a misdemeanor. In May 2007, he was placed on two years’ probation for possessing cocaine and hydrocodone. He violated his probation by possessing a knife and pistol, drugs and paraphernalia.
