Ursuline 4, Edgewood 1

ASHTABULA — Kevin Kablan, Cory Coffey, John Buckley and Sam Smith scored for the Irish (6-3-4). Dominic Parish, Matt McGahagan, Kevin Patrick and Tyler Carroll had an assist apiece. Joey DiTirro scored for the Warriors (6-4-1). Irish goalkeeper Andrew Rich made three saves. Scott Hignite had seven for Edgewood. JV: Ursuline, 1-0.

Heartland Christian 2, Columbiana 1

COLUMBIANA — Chris Palmer and Durand Foutz each scored a goal for the Lions. Hank Schleuter scored the goal for the Clippers. Nate Tate made 10 saves for Columbiana while Ethan Altomare had 14 for Heartland.

GIRLS SOCCER

Ursuline 2, Ashtabula Edgewood 1

YOUNGSTOWN — Ali Naples had a goal and an assist while Rena Hinebaugh scored on an indirect kick to pace Ursuline (1-11-1). Brianna Curd made eight saves, including her fifth of a penalty kick this season. Alexa Spring had an unassisted goal for Ashtabula Edgewood (5-6-1). Edgewood goalkeeper Emily Kline had nine saves.

Boardman 1, Canfield 0

BOARDMAN — Courtney Gratz scored on an assist from Danielle Petrus at 7:30 of the first half. Boardman (9-2) goalkeeper Cheyenne Khatib made six saves. Canfield goalkeeper Kelly Fening made nine saves. JV: Canfield, 1-0.

Mooney 3, Columbus Bishop Hartley 2

COLUMBUS — Katie Griswold scored two goals and had one assist to lead Mooney (6-4). Alex Sierra contributed a goal and Kelly Sklenar an assist. Mooney goalkeeper Rachael Letscher had seven saves. Hartley (5-2-6) goalkeeper Lindsay Canno made seven saves. JV: Hartley won, 1-0.

Harding 2, Girard 1

WARREN — Sophomore Unique Hughley and senior Katie Polenick had the goals for Harding (3-5-2). Polenick’s tally pushed Harding’s lead to 2-0 before Girard senior Amy Isoldi scored with five minutes remaining. Girard keeper Melissa Weitzman made 11 saves while Harding’sr Cierra Sparks had four stops.

VOLLEYBALL

Salem 25-25-25, Niles 11-8-10

NILES — Amy Scullion paced the Quakers (14-2, 6-0 All-American Conference Red) with four aces, 10 kills and three blocks. Alli Ward had seven aces and seven kills. Taylor Sauerwein had six aces and 15 assists. Mariah Halleck made six assists and a kill. JV: Salem, 25-7, 25-14.

Canfield 25-25-25, Springfield 20-22-18

CANFIELD — Rachael O’Hara made three kills, two blocks, seven digs and 14 assists for the Cardinals (12-6). Kendall Malsch made eight kills and 12 digs while Megg Andrews made 11 kills and six blocks. Kalie Luklan had five kills and four blocks. For the Tigers (12-3), Rachael Kennedy scored four points and made 14 kills and two blocks. Ashley Davis scored six points and made five kills while Kallie Rogers scored six points and made 20 assists. JV: Canfield, 25-16, 25-10.

LaBrae 25-25-25, Campbell 9-7-8

CAMPBELL — Lauren Crays had 10 aces, 19 assists, two digs and 21 service points to lead LaBrae (8-9, 7-2).

Courtney Aldridge added 10 kills and one block for the Vikings. JV: LaBrae, 25-9, 25-8.
