5K race, fun run scheduled for Oct. 4

YOUNGSTOWN — Registration for a Rainbow of Ribbons 5K race and fun run on Oct. 4 will begin at 9 a.m. at Buffalo Wild Wings, 50 Federal Plaza W., where the race will begin and end.

The entry fee is $20 for participants and includes an inaugural T-shirt. Age groups will be determined upon entries.

Forms can be obtained at Second Sole in Boardman or by contacting www.awaywithwordsfoundation.org. Proceeds will benefit the ROCck Children’s Choir and local cancer programs.

Pink ribbons representing breast cancer, blue for prostate cancer, and purple for leukemia can be purchased for $25 in honor or memory of a loved one. They will be hung at the finish line and taken home following the event. For more information contact Brenda Rider, (330) 360-3300.
