ITCL ROUNDUP: United, Wellsville, Southern, East Palestine, McDonald and Western Reserve are winners


MINERAL RIDGE — Despite a 21-point third quarter, the Mineral Ridge High football team was unable to pull out a win Friday against United.

Rushing touchdowns by Dan Skiba and Kyle Skiba gave the Rams hope in the third quarter, and a 71-yard interception return by Ridge’s Jake Bukovina brought the Rams within four points.

But a 32-yard run by United’s Zach Taylor — his second on the night — gave the Golden Eagles (4-2, 2-1 Inter Tri-County League Tier One) a 32-21 victory.

Taylor finished with 69 yards on nine carries. He added 93 yards on four catches. Quarterback Adam Lewis threw for 229 yards and two touchdowns.

Dan Skiba finished with 144 yards and a touchdown on 11 carries. Quarterback Jesse Garland struggled, completing 8-of-28 passes with three interceptions. The Rams are 3-3, 2-1.

East Palestine 44, Lisbon 7

LISBON — Details of the game were not reported.

Wellsville 21, Leetonia 6

LEETONIA — A game that produced 140 yards in penalties (Wellsville 60, Leetonia 80) saw the Tigers (4-2, 0-1 ITCL2) hand the Bears (5-1, 2-1) their first loss.

Justin Colella caught a 16-yard touchdown pass from Josh Selway to give Leetonia the early lead 6-0 and it held that at intermission.

The Tigers took the lead in the third quarter as Bubba Dowling scored on a 2-yard run and Jeremy Carter scored on a 10-yard run.

Carter rushed for 79 yards on 11 carries and Dowling 64 on 17 tries.

Selway connected on 6-of-17 passes for 70 yards and he gained 64 yards on 15 runs.

Southern 31, Lowellville 7

SALINEVILLE — The Indians (4-2, 1-2 ITCL2) built a 25-7 lead by halftime.

David Ramsey kicked field goals of 33, 26 and 23 yards. He also booted two extra points and ran for a two-point conversion. Bryan Bricker caught 60 and 49-yard TD pass from Mike McVay.

McDonald 69, Sebring 0

SEBRING — McDonald accumulated 552 rushing yards and had four players rush for at least 100 yards. The Blue Devils also scored 10 touchdowns on the ground.

Mikey Thomas led all runners with 138 yards on six carries with a touchdown. Zach Pura had 133 yards on eight carries with three touchdowns.

Alex Sampson had 127 yards on six carries with three touchdowns and Nick Cupan had 121 yards on eight carries with two touchdowns.

Western Reserve 56, Jackson-Milton 26

NORTH JACKSON — Running back Paul Arditi scored three rushing touchdowns for Reserve. Arditi finished with 134 yards on 15 carries with the three scores.
