Drug prevention seminar scheduled in North Jackson


NORTH JACKSON — “Investing in Education, Our Communities and Our Most Important Resources — Our Children” is the theme of drug prevention and educational program planned from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Oct. 7 at Ellsworth Presbyterian Church, 11171 Akron-Canfield Road. The session is for adults.

Speakers will be: Judge Jack Durkin, Mahoning County Common Pleas Court; Deputy Greg Taillon, Mahoning County Sheriff’s Department and school resource officer at Jackson Milton and Western Reserve Local Schools; Scott Weamer, Canfield Police Department, school resource officer at Mahoning County Career and Technical Center; and registered pharmacist; Pat Sciaretta, outreach specialist with Neil Kennedy Recovery Clinic; the Rev. Bonnie Dutton of Ellsworth Presbyterian; the Rev. Russell Libb of Berlin Center United Methodist Church; and Richard Blevins, Ohio Valley Teen Challenge board member.
