NILES — Two city residents have been released on bond after a drug raid in their home that uncovered a suspected marijuana growing operation.

The work of an eight-month investigation into suspicious activity at the home of Melenie Fogle, 33, and Ian Price, 37, came to a close Thursday when police discovered two in-home growing operations, a large quantity of suspected processed marijuana, LSD, prescription drugs and around $10,000 in cash.

The sting took place early Thursday at the home on 125 Morse St. by the Niles Police Department, which worked with the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Identification and Investigation.

In Niles Municipal Court on Friday, Fogle and Price each posted bond for $7,500. They are each charged with one count of trafficking in marijuana, one count of possessing a Schedule I drug in bulk, and one count of possessing a Schedule I drug that’s greater than five times the bulk amount.

They are scheduled to return to court Oct. 6 for a preliminary hearing.

Investigators in Niles said they anticipate future arrests related to the drug ring, but are not releasing details of how other individuals have been implicated.

The street price of the seized drugs has not been determined, and BCI is working to identify the pills found in the residence.
