Youngstown police arrest burglary suspect

YOUNGSTOWN — Police responding to a call of an attempted burglary in the 100 block of East Judson Ave. said a witness was able to identify a suspect who was still in the area.

A witness said the man, later identified as Joshua M. Atwood, 19, who is homeless, tried to break into the rear of a house around 11 a.m. Thursday, police said.

Officers spotted Atwood in the area and followed him to a garage in the 1200 block of Clarencedale Avenue where he was arrested on a charge of attempted burglary. He was lodged in the Mahoning County jail to await arraignment.
