Historical society to offer chair seat weaving class

MERCER — The Mercer County Historical Society has scheduled a workshop in chair seat weaving, which will begin at 10 a.m. Oct. 25 at the headquarters, 119 S. Pitt St., Mercer, and will probably last until at least 1 p.m.

This class will be on the traditional type of chair seating that involves weaving flat material over the four rungs of a chair that you provide. This is not chair “caning.” Call the MCHS office to find out if your chair is the right type and how much to expect materials to cost. Class size is limited to 10 people. Call (724) 662-3490 with questions or to make reservations.
