Series: Geneva leads, 21-10-3 Radio: WPIC-AM 790 Scouting report: Geneva was idle last week while Thiel gave defending league champion Washington & Jefferson a battle before faltering, 34-24, Saturday. Junior QB Willie Bova completed 13 of 26 passes for 253 yards and two TDs with no interceptions to lead Thiel. Junior William Haase had 2 1/2 sacks, He has a sack in each of the first three games this year.

MOUNT UNION (2-0, 1-0 OAC) vs. MUSKINGUM (1-1, 0-1)

When: 1:30 p.m. Where: McConagha Stadium, New Concord Series: Mount Union leads, 31-29-2 Radio: WDPN-AM 1310, WRMU-FM 91.1 Scouting report: Mount Union rolled past Ohio Northern, 44-7, Saturday, while Otterbein sailed past Muskingum, 48-7. Senior QB Greg Micheli completed 23-of-25 passes for 323 yards and three touchdowns to lead top-ranked Mount Union. Micheli hit eight different receivers. Junior WR Cecil Shorts III had his second-straight 100-yard receiving game with 108 yards on a career-best seven catches, including two TD receptions. He also rushed for a 14-yard TD. Micheli also had 50 yards rushing to account for 373 yards of total offense and lead a unit that generated 506 total yards. Senior RB Nate Kmic rushed for a game-high 89 yards in 25 carries to become the No. 7 rusher in in NCAA Division III history with 5,604 career rushing yards. His one-yard touchdown run late in the third quarter lifted his career total to 85, which leaves him six behind the NCAA Division III record of R.J. Bowers of Grove City College.

GROVE CITY (2-1, 1-0 PAC) vs. WASHINGTON & JEFFERSON (3-0, 1-0)

When: 7 p.m. Where: Cameron Stadium, Washington, Pa. Series: W&J leads, 31-12 Radio-Internet: WSAJ-FM 91.1; www.teamline.cc (code 3724), www2.gcc.edu/sports Scouting report: Grove City outlasted Bethany, 41-35, and W&J turned back Thiel, 34-24, in the PAC openers last Saturday. Senior TB Brian Mercer of Grove City rushed for 126 yards in 29 carries and four TDs, including the game-winning TD with 1:59 left, to lead the Wolverines. He was named PAC offensive player of the week. QB Andrew DiDonato rushed for two scores and 57 yards and completed 14 of 24 passes for 186 yards. Ian Minster recovered a fumble and intercepted a pass to set up two Grove City scores. Senior QB Bobby Swallow (West Branch) led W&J by completing 21 of 35 passes for 258 yards and two scores. He surpassed 6,000 career passing yards.

WESTMINSTER (2-1, 0-0 PAC) vs. THOMAS MORE (1-1, 1-0)

Series: Thomas More leads, 5-1 Radio-Internet: WWNW-FM 88.9, WMGW-AM 1490; Westminster Cable Network (WCN); www.titanradio.net Scouting report: Westminster rallied from a 10-0 deficit and scored three unanswered touchdowns in the third quarter to overcome St. Vincent, 31-24, Saturday. Junior PK Fred Romeo (Lowellville) kicked a 28-yard FG to tie the game at 10-10 as time expired at the half. Junior TB Nick McKolosky scored two third-quarter TDs and rushed for 146 yards in a season-high 30 carries to lead Westminster. Junior QB Kevion Franz completed 22-of-38 passes for 243 yards and one TD. Junior WR Jon Gubish caught six passes to tie his career record for a career-high 91 yards.

OBERLIN (0-2, 0-0 NCAC) vs. ALLEGHENY (1-1, 0-0)

When: 1 p.m. Where: Frank B. Fuhrer Field, Meadville, Pa. Series: Walsh leads, 23-18-1 Radio: WMGW Scouting report: Oberlin lost to Case Western Reserve, 48-21, while Allegheny did not play last week. QB Greg Mangan was 27-of-36 passing forr 194 yards and one TD while senior R.V. Carroll gained 103 yards on 18 carries to lead Oberlin. Two area players are starting for Allegheny — senior WR Bobby Burkes (Union) and senior NT Billy Jones (Laurel). Jake Hochendoner, a freshman from Poland, is the backup right DE on the Oberlin depth chart.

HIRAM (2-0) vs. CARNEGIE MELLON (1-2)

When: 1 p.m. Where: Gesling Stadium, Pittsburgh, Pa. Series: Carnegie Mellon leads, 18-5 Internet: www.cmu.edu/athletics/intercollegiate-sports/webcast.html Scouting report: Hiram defeated Kenyon, 45-39, in overtime Saturday. It was the Terriers’ second straight overtime win. Hiram is off to its best start since 2001. Carnegie Mellon beat Hobart, 21-16, Saturday. Senior QB Trevor Henderson scored the winning touchdown in overtime for Hiram for the second game in a row. Henderson finished 31-for-48 passing for 342 yards and two touchdowns, and also ran for another 55 yards and three TDs. Sophomore WR Steve Hammond caught six passes for 103 yards and a score. Freshman linebacker Jon Hull had a team-best 19 tackles, including eight solos.

SLIPPPERY ROCK (3-1, 1-0 PSAC West) vs. MERCYHURST (2-2, 1-1)

Scouting report: Senior DB Sam Morant’s defensive efforts helped Slippery Rock contain Gannon for a 24-16 win. Morant made 12 tackles from his position in the defensive backfield, including 1 1/2 for loss. Redshirt sophomore RB Ryan Lehmeier ran for two touchdowns to boost his season total to seven, and he had 50 yards rushing in 16 carries. Redshirt sophomore QB Brandon Frohnapple was 11-of-25 passing for 165 yards, while senior H-back Josh Prigorac caught four passes for 36 yards. Mercyhurst held Clarion to just 25 yards rushing as the Lakers won their first game ever in the PSAC West, 41-7. Ben Jennings and Richard Stokes combined for 218 yards rushing.

QUINCY (0-3) vs. WALSH (1-2)

When: Noon Where: Fawcett Stadium, Canton Series: Walsh leads, 4-0 Radio: WCER-AM 900, WHLO-AM 640 Scouting report: Walsh was idle last week. Quincy lost to Central Arkansas, 61-3. In Walsh’s last outing on Sept. 13, the Cavaliers dropped a 23-21 decision to Seton Hill after the Griffins blocked Eric Buchanan’ 22-yard field on the final play of the game.

MALONE (0-1) vs. OLIVET NAZARENE (ILL.) (1-2)

When: 2:30 p.m. Where: Ward Field, Bourbonnais, Ill. Series: Malone leads, 3-0 Radio: WNPQ-FM 95.9 Scouting report: Malone didn’t play last week while Olivet Nazarene was overun by St. Xavier (Ill.), 61-3. In the loss to Union, QB Billy Bob Orsagh completed 20 of 35 passes for 212 yards and three TDs to climb into fourth place on Malone’s career list for TD passes with 26.
