GIRARD
Sept. 22
Breaking and entering: An East Second Street woman found out a gas can, a toolbox, a golf bag and golf clubs were stolen after someone had entered her garage.
Attempted theft: A Girard man, 27, faced a charge of attempted auto theft after police responded to a report of a van with its hazard lights on near U.S. Route 422. The steering column was damaged, apparently in an effort to steal the vehicle, officers said.
Burglary: Someone entered a Crumlin Avenue residence through the garage while the homeowner was cutting grass and took $80, gold jewelry and postage stamps.
Theft: A Louis Avenue woman reported a 9 mm handgun stolen from her home.
Theft: An East Kline Street man noticed two handguns were missing from his attic. The loss came to $2,200.
Criminal damaging: An Idaho Avenue man told police someone shot 30 to 40 paintballs at his residence.
Vandalism: A man in the 600 block of Joan Avenue saw that condiments had been sprayed on a passenger-side door to his car and on a side of his residence.
Criminal mischief: An East Kline Street man told police two teens, 15 and 19, broke a rear window on his vehicle.
Aggravated menacing: An East Second Street woman reported two men tried to start a fight with her teenage son and threatened to burn down their home.
Sept. 23
Assault: A woman sitting in a vehicle at her boyfriend’s Belgrade Avenue home told police another woman punched her in the face.
Assaults: A Girard woman reported an East Liberty Street man struck her in the head with a bottle, causing her to fall over a chair. A man who tried to intervene said he was knocked to the ground and held down.
Breaking and entering: A Beechwood Avenue woman found a door to her shed ajar, as well as a shovel, two rakes and a weed trimmer missing.
Assaults: Authorities responded to a disturbance between 12 and 15 people near South Market and West Second streets and were told someone had a gun and baseball bats.
Breaking and entering: A man in the 900 block of Beechwood Avenue reported a neighbor’s shed had been entered. Stolen were a snow blower, a leaf vacuum and a lawn mower.
Burglary: An East Broadway Avenue man returned to his residence to discover a rear door had been pried open. Several pieces of jewelry were missing.
Theft: A Trumbull Avenue man’s wallet was missing from his home.
Criminal mischief: Someone shot BBs and broke two windows at a doctor’s South State Street office.
Domestic violence: A 17-year-old Girard boy was charged after his mother told officers the teen had threatened her and that she feared him because of his erratic behavior.

Theft: An East Second Street man discovered the title to his vehicle missing.

Sept. 20
Criminal mischief: A woman on School Street found damage to her car.
Theft: The Girard Municipal Court issued a warrant against a Hubbard woman on a charge of failing to appear in court to face two felony theft counts.
Assault: A 16-year-old Beechwood Drive boy told police a woman, 19, assaulted him at a park off Jones Street.
Sept. 21
Drugs: Hubbard police received a report of someone who sold the drug Ecstasy to her sister at an unknown location.
Criminal damaging: An employee with the Hubbard School District saw that someone painted a side of a co-worker’s vehicle in the 100 block of Orchard Avenue.
Sept. 22
Drugs: A Hubbard man was arrested in the 200 block of North Main Street on a warrant from Girard. He also was given a summons on a charge of possession of marijuana.
Bad check: A West Liberty Street resident reported receiving a check from a fraudulent account.
Theft: A Hubbard woman reported the theft of money and a credit card from her home.
Sept. 23
Criminal mischief: A woman driving on state Route 616 reported people in a Ford Explorer tossed beer bottles and that one likely struck her vehicle.
LIBERTY
Sept. 20
Domestic violence: A Youngstown boy, 14, was taken into custody on Motor Inn Drive and charged after officers responded to a fight. The boy disobeyed his mother and threatened his stepfather who tried to step in, the report said.
Theft: A 52-year-old Youngstown woman was arrested on a theft charge as well as on a warrant from Mahoning County after a worker with a Belmont Avenue store reported $90 missing.
Burglary: A woman noticed someone had pried open the front door to her trailer in the 1100 block of Church Hill-Hubbard Road before removing a 19-inch TV and roughly $700 worth of clothing.
Theft: A Girard woman reported a $125, five-piece patio furniture set missing from a residence in the 30 block of Tuttle Drive.
Drugs/weapon: A traffic stop in the 3000 block of Green Acres Drive led to the arrests of two Youngstown men, 23 and 32, on charges of trafficking in drugs, carrying concealed weapons and being convicted felons with a firearm. Loaded .38-caliber and 9 mm firearms were found, along with 19 bags of suspected amphetamines, a bag of suspected cocaine and five bags of suspected methamphetamines, the report showed.
Sept. 21
Vandalism: A girl at a residence in the 4700 block of Michigan Boulevard reported someone had tossed a sewer grate and broke a rear window to her father’s car.
Sept. 23
Identity theft: A Tibbetts-Wick Road woman discovered someone apparently used her personal information to open a credit-card account and charge $718 to it.
Assault: A 16-year-old Liberty High School student told authorities a male acquaintance choked her in the cafeteria of the school, 1 Leopard Way.
Drugs: A 36-year-old Warren woman was charged with possession of heroin and drug-abuse instruments after officers responded to an overdose in the 1600 block of Motor Inn Drive. A syringe with 0.5 ounces of suspected heroin and a metal spoon with suspected heroin residue were in her purse, police said.
Sept. 24
Theft by deception: An Academy Drive man told police he hired a 19-year-old Lorain man to replace a section of his roof, and made 10 payments totaling $5,750 to him but the teen performed only half the work and refused to finish.
Domestic violence: A charge was pending against a Youngstown man, 25, after his wife alleged he threatened to kill her and their children before grabbing and dragging the accuser from a neighbor’s home to theirs.
Theft/criminal damaging: A Monticello Boulevard man found a passenger-side window to his car broken and a faceplate to an AM/FM/compact-disc player stolen. The theft and damage came to $900.
