The Youngstown Jewish Film Festival closes at 7 p.m. tonight with “Jellyfish” at USA Cinema in the Great East Plaza in Niles. Admission is $8. “Jellyfish,” winner of the Camera d’Or at the 2007 Cannes Film Festival, elicits a wide range of reactions from viewers. In the Hebrew film (with English subtitles), three women’s lives intersect for a moment at a wedding. But the magic lies in how those disparate lives are weaved together. k

The Powers Auditorium curtain goes up on “Hello, Dolly!” at 8 p.m. Easy Street Productions is staging the musical, which features long-time local theater mainstay Maureen Collins in the title role. The summerlong series of concerts by rock ’n’ roll tribute bands at the Warren Community Amphitheatre comes to a close tonight, and they might have saved the best for last. Stone Pony, which plays the music of Bruce Springsteen and Southside Johnny, is the featured act. The free event runs from 5 to 11 p.m. The amphitheater is at 303 Mahoning Ave.

Fellows Riverside Gardens ushers in the fall season with Fall into Fun — A Family Celebration, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Crafts, flowers, displays, entertainment and horticultural help from the gardens experts are on the schedule for the free event. The Gardens are at 123 McKinley Ave. on Youngstown’s West Side.

j It’s been a while since regional rock act Aura played in Youngstown. April of 2006, to be exact, when the band made a splash with a record-release concert at Stambaugh Auditorium. Aura returns tonight with a show at Barley’s, 21 W. Federal St., downtown, with opening acts Philo, experimental rockers from Columbus; and Khaled Dajani, a singer-songwriter out of Washington. Show starts at 10 p.m.

The Warren Philharmonic Orchestra, under the direction of Susan Davenny Wyner, begins its season with “Celebration and Remembrance,” a salute to America’s veterans. The 3 p.m. concert is at Packard Music Hall, Warren. Call (330) 841-2931 for tickets.

Youngstown Film’s Wednesday Cinema series at the Butler-North building, 524 Wick Ave., Youngstown, is showing “His Girl Friday.” The 1940 Cary Grant classic is known for having the fastest dialogue in film history. Catch it at 7 p.m. Wednesday. The Butler-North is the former church next to the Butler Institute of American Art. Admission is $5.

The Youngstown Symphony Orchestra begins its season Oct. 11 with Motown Spectacular, a pops concert. The Contours, an early ’60s vocal group best known for the hit “Do You Love Me,” are the special guests in the 8 p.m. concert at Powers Auditorium. Call (330) 744-0264.
