POLAND — A variety of items including electronics, computers, exercise equipment, furniture and collectibles will be available during a rummage sale at High Pointe Church, 5716 Struthers Road.

Sale hours are 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. to noon Saturday.

Church schedules Christian illusionists

AUSTINTOWN — Austintown Community Church, 242 S. Canfield-Niles Road, will host two Christian illusionists for three shows as part of their 2nd Annual Fall Festival. At 5 p.m. Oct. 4, the Phil Dalton Magic Show is scheduled, and on Oct. 11 at 5 and 7 p.m., Brett Meyers’ Magic Show is set. All three shows are fee and open to the public.

Anniversary celebrated at St. Columba Cathedral

YOUNGSTOWN — In celebration of its founding in 1958, Seton III attended an opening Mass Sept. 14 at St. Columba Cathedral and brunch at the MVR Restaurant. Sharing the occasion were members of Junior Seton Circle and Seton IV.

The next meeting of Seton III is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Oct. 2 at Antone’s Banquet Centre, 8578 Market St., Boardman, with lunch at 11:30. Afterward members will attend the speaker series presented by First Friday Club of Youngstown and featuring Jim Tobin, whose topic will be “Preparing to Vote in the 2008 Presidential Election.”

Benefit bake sale

WARREN — A bake sale will take place Oct. 3 and 4 at Sam’s Club, 1040 Niles Cortland Road. The sale will begin at 9 a.m., and proceeds will benefit Latanya Foster, who is awaiting a kidney transplant.

Wine taste, chocolate fest to benefit memorial fund

WARREN — Warren Rotary Club and Warren Rotary Foundation will present their fourth annual Chocolate Festival and Wine Taste from 5 to 8 p.m. Oct. 9 at Packard Music Hall. Proceeds from the event will support the new Trumbull County Veterans Memorial in downtown Warren.

Patrons are invited to help celebrate the joy of chocolate at the event, where local vendors showcase some of their gourmet treats, featuring ice cream, cake, cookies, fruit and more. In addition, five area wineries will offer tastes of their Ohio wines.
