GIRLS SOCCER

Hubbard 5, Struthers 0 — HUBBARD — Freshman Samantha Dudley, senior Paige Zents, senior Jordana Lima, senior Cara Julian and senior Kayla Kroesen had a goal apiece for Hubbard (6-4-3, 4-1-2 AAC) on senior night. Becca Cooper, Zents, Julian, Lima, Kroesen had assists for the Phil Atsas-coached Eagles. Mary Kusky had 10 saves for Struthers, while Hubbard goalie Mariah Gordon had five saves.

Mooney 8, Warren Harding 0 — STRUTHERS — Katie Griswold had four goals, while Alex Sierra, Bethany Gonda, Kate Brandenstein and Ashley Cuba had a goal apiece for Mooney (5-4, 1-0 SVC). Maggie Vinopal, Cassie Trgovich, Britanee Mulhall and Kelsey Price had assists, whlie senior defenders Kelly Sklenar and Emma Engler were instrumental in clearing out balls headed for the Cards’ net. Harding goalie Avrielle Merten had 12 saves, while Jenn Lawrence had two stops and Rachel Letscher had one save for Mooney. Harding is 2-5-2. JVs: Mooney 3-1.

Warren JFK 6, Ursuline 0 — WARREN — Erin McBride scored three goals and Kelli Guarnieri added two as Warren JFK blanked Ursuline. Adrian Ashdown also scored for the Eagles (6-5, while Jerrica Cooper had four assists and McBride and Guarnieri each added one. Kelsey Case had two saves for the Eagles. Ursuline (0-11) got 19 saves from goalkeeper Brianna Curd.

Crestview 2, South Range 1 — COLUMBIANA — Emily Covll scored two goals to lead Crestview past South Range. Leah Garwood and Lindsay Eudicott each had an assist for the Rebels (2-7-3). Goalie Shanea Beiling added 17 saves. South Range’s goal came from McKenzie Pfeifer, while Abby Ausnehmer added the assist.

Howland 1, Canfield 1, tie — CANFIELD — Megan Long scored a goal at 34:39 of the second half on an assist from Jessica Prokop to pull Howland into the tie. Canfield’s goal was scored Molly Martin with 21:21 in the first half on an direct free free kick. Howland (9-0-2, AAC Red 3-0-1) goalie Casey Haering had two saves. Canfield (7-3-2, AAC Red 2-1-1) goalie Kelly Fening had seven saves. JVs: Canfield 1-0.

Newton Falls 3, Maplewood 3 — NEWTON FALLS — Newton Falls forward Blaine Chapman tied the game with 4:23 remaining. It was Chapman’s second goal of the game. Freshman Rachel Ellis had the Tigers’ other goal, which also knotted the contest, 2-2. Maplewood’s Michelle Sloan had a goal in each half, while Taylor Snyder had a first-half goal for the Rockets (8-1-2). Ellie Engstrom had 12 saves for Maplewood, while junior goalie Rebecca Humberger had two stops for the Tigers (7-3-1). Newton Falls out-shot the visitors, 21-8. JVs: Newton Falls 1-0

Massillon Jackson 1, Boardman 0 — MASSILLON — Rachel Dennis scored the only goal of the game at 6:00 of the first half to provide the margin of victory for Massillon Jackson (10-1, 3-1 FL). Jackson goalie Danielle Wiseman had four saves. Boardman (8-2, 4-1 FL) goalie Cheyenne Khatib had eight saves. JVS: Jackson, 3-0.

Fitch 1, GlenOak 0 — CANTON – Kelsey Martin scored a goal with 34:15 left in the first half on an assist from Kristen Schmidt. Fitch (8-3-1, 5-0 FL) goalie Ali Tolich had three saves. GlenOak (3-6-3, 1-4 FL) goalie Nicki Becks had six saves. JVs: Fitch 1-0.

VOLLEYBALL

Lordstown 25-25-25, Badger 8-8-11 — LORDSTOWN — Senior middle hitter Brianna Blodgett had 18 points, three aces, two digs and 10 kills; junior outside hitter Keeley Chaffee had six points, one ace, two digs and seven kills and senior setter Karly Gibbs had eight points, one ace and 27 assists for Lordstown (14-2, 10-0 Northeast Athletic Conference). For Badger, Megan Brainard had six points and one ace while Wyllow Sloan and Alicia Hughes both had two kills and Morgan Houser had four assists. Hughes also had seven digs for the Braves (1-12, 1-10 NAC).JVs: Lordstown 25-11, 25-19.

Crestview 25-25-25, Alliance 22-19-20 —

NEW WATERFORD — Chelsea Bowker had 18 kills, two blocks, three points and nine digs to spark Crestview (6-7). Taylor Weingart added 13 kills, one ace, eight points and four digs, Kara Taggert six kills and three digs and Marissa Neubauer two kills and 10 digs to also lead the Rebels. Brittany Bowker contributed 24 assists and two digs. For Alliance, Lauren Malloy had six kills, two aces and five digs and Ellen Safkow five kills, four blocks, five aces and eight digs. In addition, Amber Dean delivered five kills and two blocks and Jennalee Tucker 15 assists and five kills. JVs: Crestview 25-21, 25-19.

Warren JFK 25-25-26-18-16, LaBrae 21-27-24-25-8 — WARREN — Kim Sylvester scored 25 points and Kelsie Massacci added 22 digs as Warren JFK (12-3) turned back LaBrae in five games. Lauren Crays had 31 assists and Dina Dragash added 31 digs to lead LaBrae (7-8).

Mathews 25-20-25-25, Ledgemont 21-25-14-14 — THOMPSON — Tilly Dickerson had 10 kills, Emily Pitzer 12 points, Brittanee Moyer five digs, Kayla Manz 17 assists and Megan O’Dell seven blocks to lead Mathews (10-3, 9-1 NAC).
