Austintown Superintendent Doug Heuer said his district has been looking to Lowellville Local School

Austintown Superintendent Doug Heuer said his district has been looking to Lowellville Local School District and Reynoldsburg City School District, out of Franklin County, as examples of the type of dress code they’d like to present to the Austintown Board of Education this winter.

Reynoldsburg

Shirts must be tucked in and in a solid color in shades of gold, white or purple. They can be long or short-sleeved polos or oxfords. Turtlenecks can be worn under collared shirts.

Pants must be Docker or dress style with front and back pockets only in solid khaki, black or navy.

Sweaters and sweatshirts in shades of gold, purple or white may only be worn over a collared shirt or turtleneck. Only crew necks and V-necks are acceptable — no hoods.

Skirts must be navy, black or khaki in color. They must fall at or below the top of the knee. Pleated skirts and straight skirts with no slits are allowed.

No slippers, house shoes or flip-flops.

Lowellville

Shirts must be solid white, black, navy, beige or tan in color. Polo shirts, blouses and turtlenecks are permitted, as well as sweaters or sweatshirts as long as a collared shirt or turtleneck is worn underneath.

Pants must be solid black, navy, beige or tan in color. All pants must be dress or trouser style and may not sit below the waist.

Skirts must be no shorter than 3 inches above the knee.

All students must wear solid tan, beige, navy or white socks. Female students can also wear pantyhose or knee-highs.

Dress shoes, athletic shoes and sandals are permitted. They must be worn with sock or hosiery, and all shoes and sandals must have a strap around the heel of the foot.
