Sept. 18

Robbery: An 18-year-old Warren woman faced a robbery charge after an employee with the J.C. Penney store in the Southern Park Mall told police the teen struck him in the head and face several times as he tried to detain her after a theft. She was accused of stealing $360 worth of clothing.

Theft: Money was stolen from a cash register and donation can at a Market Street restaurant.

Theft: A man discovered a $1,500 wristwatch missing from his Reserve Drive residence.

Theft: Someone cut and removed a 42-inch-by-96-inch piece of aluminum from Signs By Tomorrow, 6818 Market St.

Burglary: Police, with the assistance of U.S. marshals, arrested a Boardman man, 25, at his place of employment on a burglary warrant. He was accused of breaking into a Hopkins Road home and removing a $300 air-conditioning unit.

Theft: Two 21-year-old Youngstown women were charged in the theft of $194 worth of clothing from Kohl’s, 383 Boardman-Poland Road.

Theft: A Boardman man reported the theft of a 21-inch, $530 lawn mower from near a trash bin behind a Boardman-Poland Road doctor’s office.

Theft/weapon: A 23-year-old Boardman man accused of stealing cologne from Sears in the Southern Park Mall faced charges of theft, obstructing official business, carrying a concealed weapon and drug possession. He also had a bag of suspected marijuana in his vehicle, as well as a large pocket knife, the report said.

Theft: A Columbiana woman, 24, was charged in the theft of 41 products from Wal-Mart, 1300 Doral Drive, and costing the store $258.

Domestic violence: A 35-year-old woman was taken into custody at her South Avenue residence on two counts of domestic violence after two family members alleged she assaulted them. One accuser reported having been struck in the head and pushed into a stove.

Theft: A 16-year-old Austintown boy was charged after $73 worth of T-shirts was stolen from Macy’s in the Southern Park Mall.

Bad checks: Someone wrote two checks totaling $1,250 to buy a vehicle at a Boardman-Poland Road dealership and failed to return to make good on the checks.

Theft: A package of cigars was stolen from Smoker Friendly, 4927 Market St.

Bad check: A customer wrote a bad $127.80 check to buy merchandise at a South Avenue garden center.

Criminal damaging: Someone used a key to damage a vehicle’s passenger-side door and quarter-panel area in the 400 block of Boardman-Poland Road.

Theft: A Struthers man discovered $130 missing from his wallet while in the 1300 block of Bonnie Place.

Domestic violence: A 23-year-old man was arrested at his Charles Avenue home and charged after a woman alleged that he choked her, picked her up and tossed her onto a bed.

Arrest: A Boardman man, 26, was charged with obstructing official business when, police said, he provided several false names during a traffic stop.

Breaking and entering: Tallmadge police handed a 35-year-old Boardman man to township authorities. He faced a breaking-and-entering charge after someone had crawled under a fence and loaded $131 worth of lumber onto a vehicle at Carter Lumber, 615 Boardman-Canfield Road.

Attempted breaking and entering: Someone likely used a crowbar to pry open a side door at a Speedway gas station, 649 E. Midlothian Blvd.

Theft: A Boardman man reported the theft of $100 worth of clothing while at a Mathews Road coin-operated laundry.

Arrest: A Youngstown man, 35, was arrested during a traffic stop near Southern Boulevard on a probation-violation charge.

Theft: A 29-year-old Columbiana man faced charges of theft and possession of criminal tools after a $60 handset phone was stolen from Best Buy, 561 Boardman-Poland Road.

Burglary: A woman in the 3900 block of Windsor Road discovered someone had stolen a push mower and leaf blower from her garage.

Misuse of a credit card: A Boardman man discovered that $298.73 had been removed from his credit union account.

Attempted auto theft: The attempt occurred at a Shields Road residence.

Theft/forgery: A victim in the 7400 block of West Boulevard discovered four personal checks had been stolen. Two were forged and cashed for a total of $200.
