Liberty teen arrested for punching his mother in the face

LIBERTY — A 15-year-old Liberty High School student is in juvenile detention and will face assault charges after police say he punched his 41-year-old mother in the face Tuesday.

Police said the boy was taken home from school by the school’s resource officer after being suspended. Reports say he refused to obey his mother or talk with a representative from Trumbull County Children’s Services who was sent to the home.

Police reports show the boy’s refusal to obey his mother continued after police and the children’s services representative left the home, ending with the boy punching the woman in the face.
