For Trinkaus 61st, family gathers at dinner party

• AUSTINTOWN — Margarita’s Restaurant in Girard was the setting Sept. 20 when Eugene and Phyllis Trinkaus, 390 Beechcrest Drive, marked their 61st anniversary during a family dinner party in their honor.

The couple’s children and their spouses hosted the dinner. They are John and Jeanne Simeone of Canfield, Tom Trinkaus, Michael and Mary Jo Bush of Youngstown, and Anthony and Janet Gallo, also of Youngstown.

The Trinkauses have 10 grandchildren: David and Gina Saunders, Lee and Erica Boda, Lisa Trinkaus, Trapper Trinkaus, Anthony Gallo, Marietta Gallo, Jessica Bush and Taylor Bush. Three great-grandchildren are also part of the family: Olivia, Zachary and Gabriel Saunders.

Mrs. Trinkaus, the former Phyllis Candela, married Mr. Trinkaus on Sept. 20, 1947, at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Youngstown.

She retired from Strouss department store, where she had been accounts payable manager.

Mr. Trinkaus, who retired from Conrail as a brakeman, is a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II.

The Trinkauses, who are members of Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Austintown, enjoy spending time with their family, traveling, golf and bingo.
