Dr., Mrs. Kiriazis and family mark 60th anniversary

• AUSTINTOWN — Dr. and Mrs. James W. Kiriazis, 444 Westgate Blvd, marked their 60th anniversary Sept. 12 with a dinner at Rosetta Stone Restaurant, Youngstown.

The dinner was hosted by their children, Karen and Richard Lazar, James A. and Shelley Kiriazis, Lisa Kiriazis and Laura Kiriazis. Also present for the festivities were their grandchildren, Yvonne, James Randall, Natalie, Alia Nicole and Rachel.

Dr. Kiriazis and the former Isabel Fernandez were married Sept. 4, 1948, in Warren.

Mrs. Kiriazis was a social worker and artist and worked in the records office at Youngstown State University. She retired in 1990.

Dr. Kiriazis was a professor at YSU for 50 years and at the Northeastern Ohio Universities College of Medicine for 30 years. He retired in 2007. A military veteran, he had served as a paratrooper with the 82nd Airborne Division.
