CANFIELD

Sept. 15

Theft: A resident in the 10 block of Hunters Woods Boulevard told police he received a phone call from a man who told him his grandson was in a car accident and needed him to send him a money gram so that he could get his car repaired. The man sent $1,539, but the call turned out to be a ruse.

Sept. 16

Felonious assault: A 53-year-old Youngstown man was arrested for beating up a Canfield man at his home in the 20 block of Newton Square. The victim said he and the man, who were friends, were at his home and, without provocation, the man started beating him up. The victim’s mother called police.

Sept. 15

Criminal damaging: A vehicle window was damaged at a home in the 400 block of Deer Creek Drive.

Theft: Two pool cue sticks and a case were stolen from a vehicle at the Austintown Plaza, 6000 Mahoning Ave.

Theft: A total $100 was stolen from a home in 90 block of Westminster Ave. A woman is a suspect.

Burglary: A computer and printer were stolen from an apartment in the 4000 block of Woodhurst Boulevard.

Sept. 16

Theft: A window on a vehicle was broken out and a laptop computer was stolen at the Hampton Inn, 880 N. Canfield-Niles Road.

Theft: A woman was issued a summons in the theft of 12 DVDs at Giant Eagle, 5220 Mahoning Ave.

Burglary: A VCR and a microwave were stolen from a home in the 4000 block of Woodridge Drive.

Breaking and entering: An office employee is a suspect in a breaking and entering at Renu Roofing, 168 S. Meridian Road.

Theft: A checkbook was reported stolen at 717 Credit Union, 6460 Mahoning Ave.

Theft: An undetermined amount of money was stolen from Pizza Hut, 1705 S. Raccoon Road.

Sept. 17

Theft: An employee’s payroll check was stolen at O’Donold’s, 6000 Mahoning Ave.

Property recovery: Eight propane tanks stolen from Youngstown Propane were recovered in Pennsylvania.

Breaking and entering: A door was forced open but nothing was missing at Renu Roofing.

Theft: Metal was stolen from a home in the 900 block of Turner Road.

Fraud: A checking account had money withdrawn from it. The account belonged to a person who lives in the 400 block of Warwick Drive South.

Theft: Police issued summonses for two women in thefts at Kmart, 4475 Mahoning Ave.

Sept. 18

Criminal damaging: A window and vinyl siding were damaged at Jill’s Touch, 4950 Mahoning Ave.

Criminal damaging: Vinyl siding was damaged at a home in the 2000 block of Innwood Street.

Telephone harassment: Obscene phone calls were made to a home in the 200 block of South Roanoke Avenue.

Auto theft: A green 1995 Ford Escort station wagon was stolen from a home in the 4000 block of Washington Square Drive.

Fraud: Medical records were fraudulently obtained at a home in the 4000 block of Woodhurst Drive.

Fraud: Unauthorized charges were made to the account of a person who lives in the 5000 block of Norquest Boulevard.

Theft: A wallet and purse were stolen from a vehicle at Pilot Oil, 1050 N. Canfield-Niles Road.

Criminal damaging: Damage to the trunk and fender of a vehicle was reported at a home in the 200 block of North Beverly Avenue.

Recovered property: An XM radio face plate and radar detector were found at a home in the 200 block of Elvira Drive.

Theft: Police arrested a man for theft at Wal-Mart, 6001 Mahoning Ave.

Theft: A boys 22-inch trick bicycle was stolen from the Austintown Branch of the Public Library of Youngstown and Mahoning County, 600 S. Raccoon Road.

Sept. 20

Drug offense: Police placed a Youngstown man in Mahoning County Jail after his arrest on drug charges at Oakwood Avenue and Meridian Road. He was charged with possession of cocaine, drug paraphernalia and permitting drug abuse.

Recovered property: An Ohio license, credit cards and other cards were found in the road in the 3800 block of Burkey Road.

Criminal mischief: An unidentified liquid was thrown on a vehicle in the driveway of a home in the 5000 block of Virginia Drive.

Criminal damaging: A storm door was damaged and three windows broken out at a home in the 1000 block of Paisley Avenue.

Theft: A total f $31.75 in fuel was stolen at Unimart, 890 N. Canfield-Niles Road.

Theft: Police said a man is a suspect in a theft at Walgreens, 40 N. Meridian Road.

Disorderly conduct: Police issued a summons to an intoxicated woman for disorderly conduct.

Recovered property: A Huffy bicycle was recovered in the 500 block of South Raccoon Road.

Theft: A Sylvania 32-inch television and four DVD players were stolen at Kmart.

Criminal damaging: A woman was released on bond for obstructing official business after she told police no one she had at a party at her home had left the property. A young male was seen running from a neighboring home in the 5000 block of West Rockwell Road by the homeowners, whose front picture window was broken.

Criminal damaging: Two windows were broken out with a rock at Fox Run Apartments, 80 N. Raccoon Road.

Sept. 21

Disturbance: A large fight involving many people was reported at O’Donold’s.

Disorderly conduct: Police issued a man a summons for disorderly conduct at a home in the 100 block of North Main Street.

Drug offense: Police arrested a Youngstown man and a Campbell man at Rumors Lounge, 104 N. Meridian Road. The Youngstown man was charged with possession of cocaine, drug paraphernalia and permitting drug abuse, and the Campbell man was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia.

Burglary: An enclosed patio was entered and a step stool removed at a home in the 4000 block of Nottingham Avenue.

Criminal damaging: The hood and both front fenders of a vehicle were damaged by being kicked at a home in the 5000 block of Mahoning Ave.

Criminal damaging: A windshield was broken out and there were scratches on the roof and rear door of an auto at Kmart.
