Plaque to be placed at veterans memorial

CANFIELD — A plaque acknowledging contributions of organizations and individuals to the Mahoning Veterans Memorial will be placed at noon Thursday in a ceremony at the memorial at the Canfield Fairgrounds along state Route 46.

Nearly 20 years ago, veterans and citizens came together to establish the memorial to honor the veterans of the Mahoning Valley. During the past year, extensive improvements have been made to the memorial building.

The memorial building is available for use by local veterans groups for meetings and programs.
