Wellendorf 60th celebrated with vow renewal, Mass


• POLAND — In celebration of their 60th wedding anniversary, Mr. and Mrs. Warren E. Wellendorf, 6061 Tam-O-Shanter Drive, attended Mass and renewed their marriage vows on Sept. 7 at St. Joseph the Provider Church in Campbell, where they are members.

The couple received a papal blessing during the ceremony officiated by the Rev. Michael Swierz.

Afterward, a brunch was given for the couple at the Poland home of their daughter, Linda Wellendorf. Co-hosts were the couple’s other children, Marilyn Bowlin of Clover, S.C., and Gary Wellendorf of Boardman. Completing the family are a son-in-law, Samuel Bowlin, five grandsons and eight great-grandchildren.

The former Margaret Heban and Mr. Wellendorf were married Sept. 4, 1948, at Sts. Cyril and Methodius Church in Youngstown.

Mr. Wellendorf was the owner/operator of Youngstown Cartage Co. for 30 years and retired in 1987 from Teamsters Local 377 of Youngstown, where he held the positions of trustee and business agent. He is a member of the Saxon Club of Austintown, The Romeo’s Club and New Middletown Sportsmen’s Club and a life member of the Crime Clinic of Greater Youngstown. His wife is a homemaker.
