FIFTY YEARS AGO: The Youngstown Sheet and Tube Co. finished moving from its offices in the Stambaugh Building in downtown Youngstown to new facilities on Market Street in Boardman in September 1958. Lining the walls of the lobby were portraits of presidents and chairmen of the board. From left, Henry G. Dalton, James A. Campbell, J.L. Mauthe, A.S. Glossbrenner, Frank Purnell and George D. Wick, the first president serving from 1900 to 1902. The portraits were commissioned to David Phillip Wilson of Chagrin Falls for the new office building. The company’s iconic leader, James A. Campbell, the president from 1904 to 1929 and chairman from 1930 to 1933, died at his Logan Road home at 79 on Sept. 20, 1933, almost 25 years to the day before this picture was taken.
