SENIOR SIDELIGHTS

Senior Independence Senior Center of Mahoning County, 1110 Fifth Ave., Youngstown, has planned the following activities: Monday, Men’s and Women’s Needlecraft Club at 10 a.m. and bridge at 1 p.m.; Tuesday, oil painting at 10 a.m., computer class at 10 and noon, cornhole practice at 1:15 p.m. and digital club at 2; Wednesday, watercolor class at 10 a.m., computer at 10 and noon, tai chi at noon and 500 cards at 1 p.m.; Thursday, woodcarvers and Watch Our Weight Club at 9 a.m., exercise at noon, and line dancing at 1 p.m.; and Friday, Texas Hold’em at 1 p.m. Special events are: Monday, Warther’s Museum and La Pizzaria from 10:30 a.m. to 5 p.m; Wednesday, Austintown Fun Day at Wedgewood Community Center from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.; Thursday, Boardman Fun Day at community center from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.; Friday, Youngstown Fun Day at Senior Center from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.; and Sept. 29, Housing Expo from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Home Energy Assistance Program applications are available at the center.
