WEST POINT, N.Y. — Chris Jacquemain threw for 204 yards and a touchdown, and Igor Iveljic kicked three field goals to lead Akron. Jacquemain was 14-for-25 passing with no interceptions and Andre Jones caught five passes for 100 yards and one touchdown. Dennis Kennedy ran 73 yards on 19 carries and a TD for the Zips (2-2). Army is 0-3 for the first time since 2005 and extended its losing streak to nine games. Kennedy’s 1-yard touchdown midway through the fourth quarter gave Akron a 19-3 lead and came five plays after Bryan Williams returned a fumble by third-string quarterback Carlo Sandiego 16 yards to the Army 24. It was one of five turnovers by the Black Knights, and the Zips scored after three of them.
Louisiana-Lafayette 44, Kent 27
LAFAYETTE, La. — Julian Edelman rushed 19 times for 136 yards and two touchdowns but it wasn’t enough as Kent (1-3) surrendered 667 total yards, including 414 on the ground, in the loss. Louisiana-Lafayette (1-2) was led by running backs Tyrell Fenroy (23 carries, 194 yards, three TDs) and Michael Desormeaux (17 carries, 150 yards, one TD).
Cincinnati 45, Miami (Ohio) 20
CINCINNATI — Junior quarterback Tony Pike, making his first career start for the Bearcats, was 20-of-24 passing for 241 yards and three touchdowns in the 113th meeting between the two schools. Pike, who had just 38 career pass attempts going into the game, replaced senior Dustin Grutza who fractured his right fibula with a residual high ankle sprain in the fourth quarter on Sept. 6 at No. 4 Oklahoma.
No. 5 Missouri 42, Buffalo 21
COLUMBIA, Mo. — Chase Daniel passed for a career-high 439 yards and set a Big 12 record with 20 consecutive completions, helping Missouri overcome a rash of errors. The Tigers lost three fumbles in Buffalo territory and special teams mistakes led to two of the Bulls’ touchdowns, keeping the game close well into the second half against a 33 1/2-point underdog. Missouri, which had two turnovers in the first three games, fell short of 50 points for the first time this season in a game that drew sellout attendance of 65,556.
Maryland 51, E Michigan 24
COLLEGE PARK, Md. — Wide receiver Darrius Heyward-Bey caught a 32-yard touchdown pass and ran twice for 81 yards, part of a prolific offensive showing that carried Maryland. Morgan Green ran for two touchdowns and Chris Turner threw for 212 yards and two TDs for the Terrapins (3-1), who scored on nine of their 13 possessions. Kyle McMahon completed 25 of 37 passes for 278 yards and two touchdowns for the Eagles. But Eastern Michigan (1-3), which had lost its previous three games against Maryland by a combined 132-19 score, was let down by a defense that forced only one punt and yielded 486 yards. Heyward-Bey had runs of 35 and 46 yards, each of which set up a touchdown. He finished as the second-leading rusher for Maryland.
W. Michigan 41, Tennessee Tech 7.
KALAMAZOO, Mich. — Tim Hiller threw for 333 yards and five touchdowns in Western Michigan’s victory. The Broncos (3-1) totaled 633 yards in total offense, just 30 yards under the school record.
