Family barbecue marks DeFelice 69th anniversary


• BOARDMAN — Mr. and Mrs. Louis DeFelice, 7850 West Blvd., were honored Aug. 26 as they celebrated their 69th wedding anniversary during a family barbecue at the New Middletown home of their son, Robert DeFelice.

Also participating were their other children and their spouses, Steven and Carol Morey and Bradley and Susan Colkitt, all of Poland, and their seven grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

The former Audrey Arens and Mr. DeFelice were married Aug. 19, 1939, at St. Dominic Church, where they are members.

Mrs. DeFelice, a homemaker and artist, is a member of the Altar and Rosary Society and Christian Women’s Association at the church and a former member of the YWCA’s Women’s Artist Group. She won the Best of the Show award at the first senior art show at the Butler Museum of American Art and continues to show her paintings at the Canfield Fair each year.

Mr. DeFelice was involved in Civil Defense during World War II and for 33 years was a lieutenant in security supervision with Republic Steel Corp. until retiring in 1976. He is a Gold Card member of Youngstown and Struthers Eagles and a life member of Mahoning Valley Management Association.
