“The 60th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards” (8 p.m., ABC): The new fall TV season kicks off in earnest this week, but not before industry bigwigs gather to shower some love on the best and brightest of last season. And now Emmy gets real as reality-show hosts Tom Bergeron, Heidi Klum, Howie Mandel, Jeff Probst and Ryan Seacrest join forces to host the event. They’re also nominees in a new category: Outstanding Reality/Competition Host.

“True Blood” (9 p.m., HBO): “True Blood” continues its weird and wild first season with an episode that has Bill angrily fending off three of his bloodthirsty vampire buddies who have taken an interest in Sookie.
