4 Southington, Braceville farms to be stops in farm foliage tour

WARREN —Four farms in Southington and Braceville townships will be the stops on the Trumbull County Farm Foliage Tour from 1 to 5 p.m. Oct. 12.

The tour is presented by The Trumbull County Tourism Bureau, Farm Service Agency, The Ohio State University Extension Office, Trumbull County Farm Bureau, Trumbull County Food and Agriculture Committee, Trumbull County Antique Tractor Association, Northeast Ohio Christmas Tree Growers, Trumbull County commissioners, and the Trumbull Soil & Water Conservation District .

First stop will be the Camelot Center, Barclay Messerly Road, Southington. It is a nonprofit organization that specializes in therapeutic horseback riding.

Second stop is Charlanne Farms on Warren-Burton Road in Southington. The farm sells meat and has a 6,000-square-foot showroom and farm equipment museum.

Third stop is Glen Art Dairy Farms run by the Smallsreed Family on Price West Road in Braceville. The farm began in 1864 and is a fourth-generation dairy farm with about 75 Holsteins. There will be antique tractors shown by the Trumbull County Antique Tractor Club.

The final stop will be the Balzer farm on state Shanks-Phalanx Road in Braceville. Literature will be available on the Simmental cattle that are raised there.
