YOUNGSTOWN — The Maronite Center, 1555 Meridian Road, will be the site from 6:30 to 11 p.m. Oct. 10 for a Taste of St. Charles event.

The evening will include an auction, raffle, a disc jockey and an open bar.

Providing items for the wine taste and the sampling of delicacies will be Bistro GQ,, Cassese’s MVR, Bruno’s, Donavito’s, Muzzy’s, That’s a Wrap Cafe and Caffe Capri.

Wolves Club Den VI installs officers

YOUNGSTOWN — During a recent installation ceremony, E. Gregory Tierno was inducted as president of Wolves Club Den VI of Youngstown.

Seated as his associate officers were Atty. James Vivo, president-elect; Dr. Frank Tarantine, treasurer; Dr. Peter Chila, secretary; Chelsey Santucci and Gregory Malitor, directors; and Michael Dercoli, scholarship committee.

Tierno, the owner of Insurance Claim Service and managing partner of CommonCents Energy, LLC, has served on numerous boards and organizations, including the American Heart Association, Youngstown State University Alumni Board, Italian Education Foundation, Mahoning Valley Sports Hall of Fame, and Opera Western Reserve. He is the scholarship chairman for the National Association of the Wolves.

The club raised more than $25,000 during the past year for its scholarship program at YSU and various civic projects. Since its founding in 1953, it has contributed more than $550,000 to YSU students and community projects.

Breast Cancer to be topic at Tara luncheon

CLARK, Pa. — A luncheon with the theme “Your Environment and Connection to Breast Cancer” will take place at 2 p.m. Oct. 19 at Tara — A Country Inn, 2844 Lake Road.

The cost of $15 includes a light lunch and beverage. Dr. Maryann Donovan of the Hillman Cancer Institute, Pittsburgh, will discuss current research that links environmental issues to breast cancer.
