Hispanic Heritage Month runs from Sept. 15 to Oct. 15. Here is a list of events through October.
Today: 10 a.m. Public Library of Youngstown & Mahoning County, 305 Wick Avenue, Youngstown, Hispanic Heritage Group Discussion. Theme will be “Celebrating the Past and Embracing the Future,” with Dr. Alvaro Ramirez, facilitator. Thursday: 9-11 a.m. OCCHA, 3660 Shirley Road, 2008 Annual Educators and Community Helping Hispanics Onward Inc. (ECHHO) College Fair, an informational college access program to assist Hispanic/Latino high school students and their parents. Call Maggie McClendon at (330) 941-3243 for more information.
Next Saturday: 5 p.m. OCCHA, 3660 Shirley Road, Youngstown. Hispanic Heritage Month exhibits, music, and Hispanic food for sale. For additional information, call Mary Isa Garayua, executive director, at (330) 781-1808.
