CLUBS

• Hubbard Fortnightly IV will meet Thursday at the home of Donna Morgan with Judy Guidosh as co-hostess. The program will be presented by Gail Patrick.

• Le Cercle Francais has planned an Oktoberfest in the Alsatian tradition for 5:30 p.m. Oct. 3 at the Saxon Club, 710 S. Meridian Road, Youngstown. Served at 6 p.m. will be a buffet dinner of sauerkraut, pork and sausages; German potato salad; applesauce; cabbage; green beans; and cherry strudel. The cost is $16. • Ohio Cultural Alliance will meet Oct. 6 at St. Matthias Social Center, corner of Shady Run Road and Cornell Avenue. Tom Netz will speak on his American Indian heritage. The cost is $13 for each paid-up member and $18 for nonmembers. Those attending are asked to take a nonperishable canned item for the Second Harvest Food Bank. Reservations are required by Oct. 1. • Warren Women’s Connection will sponsor a Highland Fling luncheon from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Oct. 13 at Aulizio’s Banquet Center, 4395 Youngstown Road. The cost is $10. Heather McNaughton will play the bagpipes, and William Rotar will speak on “Victory Through Adversity.” The soloist will be Joan Rotar. • Youngstown Women’s Connection invites the public to “A Day at the Fair” at 11:30 a.m. Oct. 14 at Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish Center, 4500 Norquest Blvd., Austintown. Doors open at 11:00 a.m. The event will feature an auction, bake sale and small crafts sale, music, and a guest speaker, Judith Barlow, whose topic will be “Busy Person Who Found Inner Peace.” The cost is $10 per person. • Girard Men’s Democrat Club meets at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at the Parkwood Youth Center.

service clubs

• The next meeting of the Greenford Ruritan Club will be at 7 p.m. Monday at the Greenford Lutheran Church. The club will be honoring the Green Township firefighters, EMTs, trustees, the township clerk and the Goshen Police Department. All members are urged to attend.

SUPPORT GROUPS

• Living Free, a Bible based 12-step program for those faced with daily struggles, will meet at 7 p.m. Thursday at God’s Recovery Hut, 8590 Hitchcock Road.

• TOPS 1262, McDonald, will meet Wednesday in the senior citizens room at the post office building. Weigh-in is from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m., and the meeting will follow. New members are welcome.
