AUSTINTOWN — The show will go on.

And members of the Canfield, Lisbon, McDonald, Salem, Springfield, Struthers and, of course, Austintown Fitch marching bands will be there.

The original band night, scheduled for Aug. 27, was canceled due to unforeseen circumstances.

Wes O’Connor, Fitch band director, said the new concert is scheduled for Monday at 7 p.m. at Fitch High School’s Falcon Stadium.

He said in the case of rain, the show won’t be canceled. Instead it will be played in the gymnasium in a concert format.

Concessions will be open, and tickets are $5 for adults, $4 for students and free for senior citizens and children 3 and under.

O’Connor said the Fitch band will play military-style marches, holding true to its traditional style.

“Our show mostly comprises of marches, which are more or less classical standards, and we will introduce a jazz standard this year,” he said. “Most other high school bands do rock ’n’ roll. That’s what makes us different: We are patriotic.”
