• BOARDMAN — Joshua Paul Porter and his bride, the former Amy Sarah Nelson, honeymooned at Disney World in Orlando, Fla., after their July 12 wedding at Evangel Baptist Church.
The Rev. Randy Brunko officiated, and a reception followed at Mahoning Country Club in Girard.
The couple are living in Myrtle Beach, S.C. She is a daughter of Tim and Dorothy Nelson, all of 8260 Hilltop Drive, Poland, and the groom is a son of Roger and Lynn Porter of Bedford, Ind.
The bride wore a white strapless gown with a chiffon overlay and beaded trim.
Ellen Nelson, the bride’s sister, was her maid of honor, and Emily Betts, Jessica Miller and her cousin, Emily Leiendecker, were bridesmaids, all wearing Victorian lilac gowns. Aleen Donnachie, a cousin of the bride, was the flower girl.
David Bush and the groom’s brother, Seth Porter, shared the duties of best man, and serving as groomsmen were Greg Branda and Andrew Miller. The bride’s cousin, Zachary Donnachie, was ring bearer. Ushering guests were Geoff Nelson, the bride’s brother, and Kyle and Kolby Smithpeters, cousins of the groom.
Mrs. Porter is a graduate of Taylor University in Upland, Ind., earning a bachelor’s degree in secondary education. She is a social studies teacher at Loris High School in South Carolina.
Mr. Porter, also a Taylor graduate, earned a bachelor’s degree in sports management. He is sports director for Carolina Forest Community Center in Myrtle Beach.
