The Stage is the Oakland Center for the Arts’ monthly open-microphone session, and it’s tonight. Singers, actors, comedians, musicians, yodelers, contortionists, snake charmers and yo-yo experts who need some stage time can report to the theater, upstairs at 220 W. Fall is approaching, but Truck Night at Yankee Lake is still going strong. Tonight’s theme has a “Dukes of Hazzard” theme, with a Daisy Duke contest, a visit from actor Byron Cherry, who once had a recurring role on the TV series, and a jumping of the General Lee over a row of cars. As they say, the mud flies at 7 p.m. Yankee Lake is on Route 7 in Brookfield, north of Route 82.

The Voice of Main Street vocal music competition finals are this weekend at Main Street Theatre, 5 N. Main St., Columbiana. Winners will be crowned in four age groups, with kindergarten-fourth graders and fifth-eighth graders vying tonight, and high schoolers and adults competing Saturday. It starts at 8 p.m. both nights. Apple cider time is here, with two festivals marking the sweet time of year. In Lisbon, it’s the Johnny Appleseed Festival from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. on the Village Square. And the Lordstown Apple Cider Festival runs all weekend in that village, with food, crafts, rides and cider. It starts at 3 p.m Friday, and 10 a.m. Saturday and Sunday.

The Leetonia Artisans Festival runs from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. with a host of entertainment, including craft demonstrations, a Civil War re-enactment, antique car show and more. Car show registration is from 10 a.m. to noon. Call Tina McGath at (330) 398-4637 for more information.

There’s a big Polish Day celebration at Cascade Park in New Castle, Pa. It starts at noon and features authentic food and two nationally-known polka bands: Lenny Gomulka an Chicago Push, and Eddie Blazonczyk’s Versatones. Admission is $12 (kids 16 and under free).
