Open meetings is topic for women voters league

HOWLAND — Robin M. Rose, director of the Open Government Unit from the Ohio Auditor’s Office, will present a program examining Ohio’s Open Meetings Act during a membership meeting of the League of Women Voters of Trumbull County at 6 p.m. Monday at the Shepherd of the Valley Retirement Center, 4100 North River Road.

There will be an in-depth discussion of what constitutes a meeting, how to ensure your meeting is open, providing proper notice and preparing minutes. Discussion will continue on key definitions, exceptions (when you can properly discuss matters in executive session) and the penalties that may be imposed upon a public body for failure to comply.
