The following are new elections board times, deadlines and suggestions:

Trumbull elections board hours, effective Oct. 7: 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday. The hours are normally 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Beginning of absentee (early) voting: Sept. 30.

Deadline to register to vote in the general election: Oct. 6.

Advice from Kelly Pallante, county elections board director:

Decide how you will vote before you enter the voting booth to reduce long voting times and lines.

Vote at times other than the busiest times, 4:30 to 7:30 p.m., if possible.

Be aware that there will be eight sets of presidential candidates plus write-ins on the ballot and be prepared to spend time looking through the list to find your choice. Candidates will be in a different order depending on the polling place where you vote.
