Latest power update: 21,000 still waiting


There are still people in the Mahoning Valley without power, but crews continue to narrow the original number of 188,000 customers in the Ohio Edison/Penn Power Eastern Region.

As of 3:30 p.m. today the number dropped to about 21,000 customers without electricity across the Mahoning Valley.

Specific regions are as follows: Mahoning County, 2,400; Columbiana County, 7,800; Trumbul County, 3,000; Lawrence County, 3,400; and Mercer County 4,600.

Crews are aiming to have power restored to the majority of customers by tomorrow and all power restored by the weekend, said Ohio Edison Trumbull County area manager LuAnn Koch.
