Kids’ Tailgate Fun Day set Saturday

YOUNGSTOWN — The Youngstown State athletic department will host a “Kids’ Tailgate Fun Day” at Stambaugh Stadium Saturday.

The event, sponsored by State Farm Insurance, will take place from 3-6 p.m. at the M-7 tailgate lot on Fifth Avenue, adjacent to Stambaugh Stadium. It will precede the football game between the Penguins and North Dakota State which will kick off at 6 p.m.

Kid’s Tailgate Fun Day is free and open to children and adults of all ages. Tailgate activities will include bounce-a-round games, football, basketball and other skill games, clowns, face painting, Pete & Penny and free ticket giveaways. “Guys Without Ties” will provide live tailgate music during the event.

The State Farm Fun Fest will take place Sept. 27 from 3-6 p.m. in the M-7 lot. “First Degree” will play live tailgate music during the fun fest.

Area youth group leaders can contact the YSU athletic marketing office at (330) 941-7227 about complimentary game tickets for the Sept. 27 event. This is a “Penguins for Kids” special event supported by the DeBartolo Corporation.
