Fatal crash on the Ohio Turnpike

The Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a crash in Springfield Township. It occurred at about 9:30 p.m. Tuesday at milepost 238.2 westbound on the Ohio Turnpike.

Charles E. Kersey, 52, of Massillon was operating a commercial vehicle and driving westbound when his vehicle struck a pedestrian who was in the roadway, the patrol said.

Allen M. Brockett, 41, of Toledo was killed.
