DeBartolo Corporation to sponsor kids tickets

YOUNGSTOWN — Youngstown State’s athletic department and Denise DeBartolo York announced Tuesday that the DeBartolo Corporation will be the presenting game sponsor for the upcoming home football games against Liberty and Southern Illinois at Stambaugh Stadium.

The DeBartolo Corporation will partner with YSU as part of a Penguins for Kids initiative. For each contest, 5,000 tickets have been purchased for area schools, youth teams, children’s groups and other youth-related organizations to attend each game.

The program is designed to provide area children the opportunity to attend a YSU football game, allowing them to explore the YSU campus with their family and friends and gain insight into higher education and intercollegiate athletics.

The Penguins play host to Liberty Sept. 27 at 6 p.m. Fans who attend the game will receive a Pete & Penny activity/coloring book. Prior to the game State Farm Insurance is sponsoring its third annual Family Fun Day in the M-7 Giant Eagle tailgate lot and following the game B.J. Alan/Phantom Fireworks will sponsor a fireworks show.

On Oct. 18 the Penguins will play host to Southern Illinois in a 4 p.m. kickoff. Fans attending the game will receive a YSU stadium cup and following the game there will be another fireworks show.

Youth organizations interested in receiving tickets can visit the Youngstown State athletics Web site, www.YSUsports.com, to download a form and return it to the ticket office.
