Sept. 13

Assaults: Three people reported having been assaulted at an apartment in the 30 block of Shields Road.

Theft: Eleven articles of children’s clothing were stolen from Wal-Mart, 1300 Doral Drive, costing the store $91.42.

Theft: A Youngstown man, 22, was charged after 16 items valued at a total of $62.37 were stolen from Wal-Mart.

Theft: The rear license plate was removed from a vehicle in the 400 block of Boardman-Poland Road.

Truck theft: A woman reported her son’s 2000 Dodge truck stolen in the 8400 block of Market Street.

Theft: Someone stole a temporary tag off a vehicle in the 7700 block of Glenwood Avenue.

Misuse of a credit card: A 28-year-old Canfield man was arrested at the Mahoning County Jail on a warrant charging him. Earlier, another man’s credit card had been used without consent to make a total of about $675 worth of purchases at three township stores.

Theft: A woman’s purse was missing as she shopped at a Boardman-Canfield Road store.

Criminal damaging: A Sharon, Pa., woman told police that while stopped in traffic near U.S. Route 224, the driver in front of her got out and tossed a handful of coins at her car, damaging its hood, grill and roof.

Sept. 14

Theft: An 18-year-old Youngstown man was charged in the theft of a cell phone and golf glove from Wal-Mart.

Criminal mischief: A Tara Drive man found a tomato in his swimming pool.

Robbery: An elderly Boardman woman and several witnesses told police a man in a gray hooded sweat shirt grabbed her purse and fled on foot as she exited her vehicle at a Market Street gas station.

Theft: A Straley Avenue woman reported a $150 in-dash stereo/compact-disc player stolen from her car.

Burglary: Someone kicked in a rear door to a Jeanne Lynn Drive residence before taking jewelry, a computer and three TVs.

Vandalism: A Glendale Avenue man found damage to his car’s paint.

Theft: A Shelbourne Drive man reported a global positioning system unit, an ear piece and a wristwatch stolen from his vehicle.

Theft: A worker for Classic Bakery Inc., 7135 Tiffany Blvd., noticed a 30-inch-by-30-inch ramp missing from near a walk-in cooler.

Theft: Five packs of cigars were stolen from a Speedway gas station, 649 E. Midlothian Blvd.

Burglary: A 71-year-old Youngstown man faced a burglary charge after a man checking on his girlfriend’s Lynnmar Drive residence discovered someone in her living room. The intoxicated man was asleep in the room, the report showed.

Sept. 15

Attempted theft: A Lockwood Boulevard woman found out someone tried to steal property from her vehicle.

Theft: Wal-Mart security personnel detained a shoplifter, no information given, accused of taking 10 DVDs.

Theft: A North Lima woman left her purse at a Boardman-Canfield Road store and discovered the purse missing upon returning for it.

Theft: A 16-year-old Boardman boy accused of stealing $69 worth of merchandise from the JC Penney store in the Southern Park Mall faced a theft count.

Arrest: A Boardman woman, 27, was taken into custody in the 1300 block of Boardman-Canfield Road on a child-endangering charge. She was accused of leaving two children, 2 and 6, in a vehicle unattended for about an hour.

Menacing: A Johnstown, Pa., woman staying at a Tiffany Boulevard motel told authorities her boyfriend made several threatening phone calls, on one of which he threatened to harm her with a knife.

Robbery: Police nabbed a 19-year-old Boardman man near California Avenue and charged him with two counts each of aggravated robbery and receiving stolen property after two employees with a Southern Park Mall store reported having been confronted by a gunman who fled on foot. One worker said the gunman demanded his wallet; the other reported he demanded her purse.

Theft/drugs: A Youngstown man, 36, faced charges of theft, possession of criminal tools and drug abuse after two pairs of blue jeans, a pair of shorts and a leather coat were stolen from Burlington Coat Factory, 529 Boardman-Canfield Road. The man also had a bag containing white pills, the report said.

Sept. 16

Arrest: A 40-year-old Boardman man was arrested on a felony charge of passing a bad check after being accused of writing a $670 check at Aaron’s Sales & Lease, 101 Boardman-Canfield Road, that was returned.

Theft: An Indianola Road man reported the theft of a shrub from in front of his residence.

Recovered property: A 2007 Nissan Sentra that had been stolen in Youngstown was found in the lot of a Market Street car rental business.

Theft: A Huntington Drive man reported an MP3 player, a stereo adapter, two tennis rackets and cigars stolen from his home.
