MCCAIN UPDATE: McCain, Palin arrive
MCCAIN UPDATE: The plane carrying U.S. Sen. John McCain touched down at Youngstown-Warren Regional Airport at 4:02 p.m.
The call came from the tower, "Phoenix is down," meaning McCain had landed. The airport crew put down a 4-foot-by-8-foot red carpeting.
A large number of people were waiting to greet the Republican presidential candidates as he exited the plane.
Campaign staff gave an early crowd estimate of 6,000 in the Winner Aviation hangar.
At least a dozen people, some waiting since about 1 p.m., needed emergency medical care while waiting for the rally to begin at least 6,000
The rally is expected to begin sometime after 4:10 p.m.
