McCain-Palin Victory Tour 08
VIENNA — John McCain, the Republican presidential nominee, took Wall Street to task today for its “reckless corruption and unbridled greed.”
Speaking at the Winner Aviation hangar to a crowd of about 7,000, McCain said, “When I’m president we’re not going to tolerate that anymore. We’ll hold the people of Wall Street responsible.”
McCain said Americans put a lot of trust in banks and investment companies. “Many have proven to be unworthy of that trust,” he said.
These companies have counted on the “lax oversight” of various government regulation agencies, he said.
McCain added that, based on numerous programs, the federal agencies have not done their jobs and need to be reformed.”
