Youngstown street crews work to remove fallen trees

Crews of the Youngstown Street Department are working to remove fallen trees on city streets. There are approximately 10 streets blocked off so crews can clear the debris faster and more efficiently. “We’ll be working all day,” said construction foreman Tom Sakmar. “It might be a lot longer,” he said.

Calls are still coming in and Sakmar said the majority of the debris is on the South Side, but trees are down all over the area. “I got called out at 7 last night and worked till this morning,” said Sakmar.
