Illinois St. 42, Murray St. 23

MURRAY, Ky. — Illinois State’s Geno Blow and Parrish Fisher combined for 172 yards rushing and four touchdowns. Blow ran for a game-high 98 yards and two touchdowns and Fisher added 73 yards and two more scores for the Redbirds (1-1), who rushed for 259 yards and five touchdowns. Tom Nelson recorded a career-high 102 in punt return yards, which included an 82-yard scamper for a touchdown.

E. Illinois 38, Indiana St. 3

CHARLESTON, Ill. — Travorus Bess ran for 93 yards and a touchdown and Bodie Reeder threw two scoring passes for Eastern Illinois. Bess had a 31-yard scoring run for the Panthers (1-2). Reeder was 9-of-15 for 107 yards. He threw an 8-yard TD pass to Sean McGrath and a 17-yarder to Charles Graves. Rashad Haynes returned an interception 23 yards for another score. Braul Martinez kicked a 22-yard field in the fourth quarter for Indiana State’s first score of the season. The Sycamores opened with a 52-0 loss at Eastern Michigan.

Oklahoma St. 57, Missouri St. 13

STILLWATER, Okla. — Keith Toston ran for a career-best 148 yards and Oklahoma State had the second trio of 100-yard rushers in school history in the Cowboys’ win. Beau Johnson rushed for 138 yards, and Kendall Hunter added 132 more as Oklahoma State (3-0) piled up 450 yards rushing, sixth-most in school history.

Boise St. 20, Bowling Green 7

BOISE, Idaho — Boise State’s offense got off to a fast start, scoring three quick touchdowns before handing the game over to the defense. Despite a 10-minute disadvantage in time of possession, the Broncos’ bend-but-don’t-break defense held Bowling Green’s offense scoreless until the fourth quarter, then sealed the game late when safety Jeron Johnson pounced on a loose ball, preserving the victory. The Broncos allowed just 103 rushing yards, 307 overall and notched two sacks.

BATON ROUGE, La. — Charles Scott ran for touchdowns of 39 and 43 yards and Trindon Holliday scored on a 92-yard punt return for LSU, but linebacker Darry Beckwith left the game with an apparent right knee injury.

No. 10 Wisconsin 13, No. 21 Fresno St. 10

FRESNO, Calif. — P.J. Hill ran for 112 yards and Allan Evridge threw a touchdown pass before leaving with an injury for Wisconsin. Wisconsin (3-0) scored its only points of the second half on a 23-yard field goal by Philip Welch after a fumbled punt by A.J. Jefferson. That proved to be just enough to win because Kevin Goessling missed three field goals, including a 35-yarder in the fourth quarter and a 51-yarder after a blocked punt in the third.

UNLV 23, No. 15 Arizona State 20, OT

TEMPE, Ariz. — Malo Taumua blocked a field goal to secure UNLV’s victory. Taumua’s block on a 35-yard field goal attempt by Thomas Weber came after Kyle Watson kicked a 20-yard field goal on the Rebels’ overtime possession.

LOGAN, Utah — Matt Asiata scored three touchdowns rushing and Brian Johnson threw for two more and Utah defeated Utah State for the 11th consecutive time. Johnson completed 22 of 31 passes for 204 yards before sitting out most of the fourth quarter as the Utes combined an effective rushing attack with a short passing game to wear down the overmatched Aggies (0-3).

Slippery Rock 38, Kutztown 24

SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. — Ryan Lehmeier rushed for three touchdowns to lead Slippery Rock over Kutztown. Brandon Frohnapple threw a touchdown pass to Terry Grossetti and Ryan Webb added a 40-yard interception return for another score for Slippery Rock (2-1). Lehmeier scored on runs of 1 and 10 yards in the second quarter to help Slippery Rock build a 24-10 halftime lead. After the break, Webb returned one of Shane Martin’s three interceptions for a touchdown to give Slippery Rock a 31-10 lead. Martin threw a 33-yard TD pass to Jason Uhlig and scored on a 1-yard run later in the third to get Kutztown (1-2) within a touchdown, but Lehmeier put the game away with a 1-yard run that capped a 12-play, 80-drive with 5:09 left to go.
