Political signs stolen

MERCER, Pa. — Parents ought to check their children’s bedrooms for political campaign signs, says Mercer County District Attorney Robert Kochems.

He said he is receiving an increased number of complaints that political campaign signs are being stolen or defaced. The incidents increase after after local fairs, which makes him believe the culprits are juveniles. He warned those responsible that stealing a campaign sign is not a prank; it’s a misdemeanor punishable by up to a $2,500 fine and one year in jail.
