arts/Crafts shows
• Lordstown Apple Cider Festival will have its annual craft show from noon to 8 p.m. Saturday and from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday. More than 100 crafters are expected to offer their goods. It will be at Lordstown High School, 1776 Salt Springs Road. There is no admission charge. For more information, call (330) 824-0022.
AUCTIONS
• The Youngstown Saxon Club, 710 S. Meridian Road, invites the public to a Chinese Auction on Sept. 21. The admission charge is $4 per person and includes a free ticket for the auction along with a hot dog, potato chips and either a soft drink or coffee. Doors will open at 2 p.m. The auction will take place in the ballroom.
• Mahoning Valley Grange, 1208 Skyhill Road, Edinburg, Pa., has scheduled its annual fall auction and dinner for Oct 1. A dinner of beef tips and noodles will be served from 5-7 p.m. The cost is $8 for adults and $5 for children 4-12. Only 130 dinners are being prepared.
The auction will begin at 7:30 p.m. and will feature crafts, produce, baked goods, canned goods, apple butter, fresh pork sausage and chops, and a handmade quilt. CASINO NIGHT
• Blessed Sacrament Parish, 3020 Reeves Road NE, Warren, is sponsoring a Casino Night and Texas Hold ’em Tournament on Sept. 20. Doors to Covelli Center will open at 5 p.m., and the Texas Hold em Tournament begins at 5:30 p.m. All are welcome.
Also featured will be a chuck-a-luck wheel, 50-50 raffle, blackjack and poker tables, food and beverages. Patrons must be at least 18 to attend. Proceeds benefit the parish. Regular $50 buy-in equals $1,300 in chips. Buy in now through Thursday and receive an extra $200 in chips. Call the parish office at (330) 372-2215 for registration information. SALES
• Good Hope Lutheran Church, 98 Homestead Drive, Boardman, will be the site of a rummage sale from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sept. 26 and 27. The sale is sponsored by the women’s group, W.E.L.C.A.; the choir, and the Cancer Relay for Life team. Toys, kitchen items, clothes, Christmas items and more will be for sale. Food will be sold by the Relay Team, which will also take orders for the 2008 Entertainment Books. Donations for the sale will be taken from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Thursday the week of the sale.
• Ohltown United Methodist Church, 2001 Ohltown Road, Austintown, will have its semiannual trash and treasure sale and bake sale from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday. Lunch will be available. No clothing will be for sale. Call (330) 652-6614 or (330) 652-1596 for more information.

• Salvation Army Thrift Store in Austin Center, Mahoning Avenue, Austintown, is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday. A variety of men’s, women's and children's clothing and bric-a-brac is available at bargain prices.
