AKRON — Ball State safety Sean Baker, a Canfield High graduate, intercepted three passes, recovered a fumble and led the Cardinals with nine tackles en route to a 41-24 victory in a Mid-American Conference game on Saturday.

MiQuale Lewis rushed for 154 yards and two touchdowns and Nate Davis passed for 300 yards and two more scores for Ball State (3-0, 1-0 Mid-American Conference). Alex Allen (Ursuline) rushed seven times for 36 yards and a TD for the Zips (1-2, 0-1).

Toledo 41, E. Michigan 17.

YPSILANTI, Mich. — DaJuane Collins rushed for a career-high 168 yards and two touchdowns to lead Toledo.

Playing in heavy rain for most of the first three quarters, the teams combined for eight turnovers.

The Rockets (1-1, 1-0 Mid-American) took advantage, scoring 21 points off five turnovers by Eastern Michigan (1-2, 0-1). Collins scored on runs of 19 and 4 yards in the first quarter.

Kent St. 24, Delaware St. 3

KENT — Julian Edelman, Leneric Muldrow and Andre Flowers each ran for a touchdown to lead Kent State past Delaware State.

Edelman carried 11 times for 71 yards including a 7-yard score, Muldrow scored on a 31-yard play the only time he ran it and Flowers counted a 5-yard touchdown run among his 17 carries for 54 yards for the Golden Flashes (1-2). Nate Breed added a 43-yard field goal.

Cent. Michigan 31, Ohio 28

ATHENS — Dan LeFevour passed for 361 yards and ran for a touchdown and Ontario Sneed added two short scoring plunges to lead Central Michigan.

LeFevour capped a 6-play, 76-yard drive with his 2-yard scoring run with 9:08 remaining, boosting the Chippewas (2-1, 1-0 Mid-American Conference) to a 31-21 lead.

Miami (Ohio) 38, Charleston Southern 27

OXFORD — Eugene Harris returned a punt 44 yards for a touchdown and Miami of Ohio ran off the last 21 points to beat Charleston Southern.

The RedHawks (1-2) trailed 27-17 with 4:45 left in the third quarter when Harris raced into the end zone. Armand Robinson then caught an 18-yard touchdown pass from Daniel Raudabaugh for the go-ahead score in the fourth quarter before Thomas Merriweather scored on a 1-yard run — his third touchdown of the day — with just over 4 minutes left.

Buffalo 30, Temple 28

AMHERST, N.Y. — Drew Willy’s last-second 35-yard touchdown pass to Naaman Roosevelt lifted Buffalo. Roosevelt’s Hail Mary throw capped a fourth quarter that saw three lead changes in the final 2:27. Roosevelt battled three Temple defenders to score, cradling the ball on his leg as he hit the turf.

Western Michigan 51, Idaho 28

MOSCOW, Idaho — Western Michigan (2-1) outscored Idaho (1-2) 23-7 in the third quarter to pull away.
