MERCER, Pa. — The Mercer County Historical Society has tickets available for its fourth annual Ox Roast on Sept. 21, with Munnell Run Farm Days.
The meal will be served from noon to 2 p.m. at the Rural Life Museum on the grounds of Munnell Run Farm which is one mile north of Mercer on Pa. Route 58 West. Tickets are $5 until Saturday at the Historical Society headquarters at 119 S. Pitt St. and $6 the day of the event.
The meal includes salad, roast beef, potato, vegetable, and roll and butter and will be served on a first-come, first-served basis, with serving limited to 200.
Advance tickets are also available by sending a self-addressed, stamped envelope to the society at 119 S. Pitt St., Mercer, Pa. 16137.
The Rural Life Museum, which exists to explore an understudied part of Mercer County’s history, also will be open from noon until 5 p.m. Sept. 21. The museum is located about one mile north of Mercer on Route 58 and located behind Woodland Place (the old County Home).
It offers a glimpse at past times and agricultural improvements. For Munnell Run Farm Day, the Historical Society’s 1914 Twombly and other antique autos will be parked outside the museum.
