BETHANY, W.Va. – Freshman RB Eric Walker scored two fourth quarter touchdowns as Bethany scored 20 unanswered points in the final period to rally from a five-point deficit.
The triumph was the Bison’s fourth consecutive in a home opener and raised their record to 1-1. The Knights, a first-year NAIA program, dropped to 0-3. Bethany scored early when a flea-flicker resulted in a 57-yard scoring pass from freshman QB Chad Smith to junior WR Matt Cruse for a 7-0 lead just 14 seconds into the game.

ALBION, Mich. — The shutout loss marked just the sixth time under head coach Jack Leipheimer that Thiel has been blanked and the first time since a 14-0 setback to Alfred in 2006. The Britons held the edge in nearly every offensive statistical category, including total yards (303-137) and time of possession, in which Albion held a nearly two-to-one advantage. The Britons got two touchdowns from freshman Aaron Dolkowski – one on a 42-yard dash in the first quarter and the other on a one-yard run to cap a three-play, four-yard drive in the third quarter.

GROVE CITY, Pa. -- Senior tailback Brian Mercer ran for 115 yards while the Grove City defense forced four second-half turnovers.
It is Grove City’s first win in its home opener since 2004. It is also the Wolverines’ first home win over CMU since 2000. Grove City (1-1) trailed 3-0 at halftime but took the lead for good with 16 straight points.
The Wolverines surged ahead with 21 seconds left in the third as senior wide receiver Stephen Mercer (Beaver Local) pulled in a 9-yard touchdown pass from junior quarterback Andrew DiDonato.Grove City limited CMU to just six second-half first downs. The Wolverines also owned a 19:32-10:28 edge in time of possession over the final two quarters. Grove City out-gained CMU, 328-259.
Union College 35, Malone 28
BARBOURVILLE, Ky. — Union College put together a dominating second-half performance to upset visiting No. 24 Malone, extending the Bulldogs win streak to four games. Joseph Peters led the Malone ground attack with 78 yards and a score on 15 carries, while Maurice Gore ran for 74 yards on 10 attempts. Union is off to its first 2-0 start since 1994 when it went 7-3. Malone is 0-1.
Seton Hill 23, Walsh 21
CANTON — Seton Hill (3-0) blocked Walsh’s 22-yard field goal on the final play of the game to win their third straight. The loss dropped Walsh to 1-2 and marks their second straight loss to a member of the West Virginia Intercollegiate Athletic Conference. Clinton Blossomgame led Walsh with 128 yards and Marc Pullen completed 6-15 passes for 31 yards.
